Final evaluation of my project (281 words)

Looking back at this project, I have to say i have had my ups and downs. At the start of this project i was very anxious and apprehensive about it, however once i got the hung of it, it became easier and easier as time went on. The one thing i found difficult about this project was writing every thing i did on the blog; this is because i have never been a keen writer in the past.

The research side of thing, has been very interesting and to an extent fun. On my research i have come across a lot of interesting looks and designs in the fashion industry and also in other projects. It has been good to see people interpretation of the Elizabethan hair concept on catwalks and in television/ film.

The final project itself has been eye opening and stretched my ability. I have learnt that i can create an elizabethan look with any hair type, even mine, which is in plats. It has been intriguing to see what i can do with my hair and the limits i have and how to overcome them.

Having to work with a partner has been fun. It has help me with my communication skills and also improved my listening skills. This is something i will always need in the industry and in life in general.

I fill like this project has stretched me a little more, in that i am a lot more confident in writing and expressing my ideas on paper and not just in words. Also i have acquired a little more knowledge about the Elizabethan era and how i can use history in a modern twist.

My final assessment on my partner

Evaluation for my partners final designs

I am pleased to say that i have finally done my partners final design. There has been ups and down but we got there at the end. For this final design i fill like i did well and that i have improved a lot. I also fill like i have worked well with my partner and that her design was well explained. All i can say is that i am glad we did the practice looks before hand, because on the day i felt very confident and ready to execute the design. Also the step by step plane my partner made for me were very clear and easy to follow.

Evaluation of my final partners final assessment in my design

I am very happy with my final look. I am pleased to say all the practice session with my partner, has paid off. To start of this design used to take my partner 45 mins - 1hour to just wrap the hair on to the padding. But as we kept on practising, she has improved a lot on the timing. For the final look it only took her 15 min to wrap the hair on to the pudding. Also the placement of the pudding in this look is perfect.

During the practice sessions we had changed a few things, which i think help to make this design come to life. I have worked very well with my partner for this project. She has given me ideas and voiced her opinion on my final look and what I could improve.

For the final look, I can confidently say that my partner has done well; she has executed the final look with such understanding and confidence, this could be because of her dedication to practicing on my hair.

practice 2 for final design on me

To day i meet up with my partner to practice my final design one last time. The practice today was a little overwhelming. this was because i had a really bad headache. i learnt today never get your hair done when you are not well, it just puts you on a bad mood. never the less the practice session went well; my partner was very patients with me and as usual she did well and improved on her timing which was our main concern.
During the end of the practice session we agreed to add a small detail at the back which is to create a plat going down to the back,  this will be included in the final design.

Here is what she did

Practice session on my partners design look 2.

In the last practice session my partner tweaked her look a little. For this look i have made the bun a lot bigger and i have used padding at the front of the hair.

Hair is the look

As you can see from the picture the bun is much bigger. Which i think looks better like this. However, next time i will use hair pry to minimise the frizz and reduce the flyways and also make the bun smother. Also i will improve the placement of the hairpins so that they are not visible.

Practice session with my partner on her design.

My partner and i meet up today to practice her design. in her design she has included plats, which is one of my favourite things to do.

If i say that when i sow my partners design i was scared, i would be laying. To be honed i was actually exited. The fact that she included plats in her Design was just amazing to me. however one thing i was scared of was plating her hair to tight, which would make her to be uncomfortable. to avoid this i kept asking her if i was to tight to which she said 'no'.

At the end of the practice session, my partner decided to tweak the design by asking me if we can make the bun at the back much bigger and if we can use the padding on the two sections at the front.
so for the next practise session am going to create the improved version of her design. which i think will make the look more Elizabethan.
